Call for ideas: Design the future of the Gazometro
We are opening the doors of our innovation space to new creative visions, where technology, the city and imagination come together through an unprecedented alliance between art and business. Together with Spazio Taverna, we are promoting the “Call for ideas: design a vision for the future of the Gazometro”, an initiative aimed at young talents in contemporary art and architecture, who are invited to imagine a monument, a pavilion or an installation for our hub in the Ostiense district.
The Grande Gazometro, an iconic iron colossus and the capital’s historic energy hub, serves as both the backdrop and inspiration for this open call. The aim is to gather design proposals capable of engaging with the site’s industrial heritage and transforming the trajectories of the ecological and digital transition into a shared artistic vision that is tangible to the entire urban community.
Participation is free and open to individuals or groups of creatives aged under 35 (as at 31 July 2026). To apply, you must submit a single PDF file containing the project concept (maximum 6,000 characters), 1 to 3 high-resolution images or renderings positioned on the areas of the district made available, an indicative budget for production costs, together with your CV and professional portfolio. Entries must be submitted by 31 July 2026 via the form on the initiative’s official website.
Entries will be assessed by a distinguished jury comprising not only our PMO Mattia Voltaggio and the curators of Spazio Taverna, Marco Bassan and Ludovico Pratesi, but also leading figures from key cultural institutions and partners, including Claudio Quaternato (Fondazione Cassa Depositi e Prestiti), Lorenza Baroncelli (MAXXI Architettura), Damiano Gulli (Triennale Milano) and Marco Capasso (Arte al Gazometro).
In September, the 10 finalist projects – which will be published in Artribune and gain access to The School of Vision Masterclass – will be announced, along with the overall winner, who will receive a cash prize of 3,000 euros. This is a real opportunity to put one’s talent to the test on one of Rome’s most evocative and forward-looking stages.
